Aurora 11./12. April 2001

All photos have been taken some km north of Kiel

in the beginning the Aurora is not very remarkable...

but around midnight the first colors appear

then beams are developing..

...and can be seen over the northern horizon

in the West there is a sharp border visible...

...while the whole zenit shows a red glow.

Pictures were taken on 100 ASA color slides with 28mm 1:2.8. Exposure times are between 1 and 3 minutes.
